Alma Zhong
Recruit Profile
Coachable, pass and shoots well with both feet, good technical skills and can pass out of pressure. Versatile, a hard worker, positive and supporting teammate on and off the field.
Hello, my name is Alma and I am a student in the Magnet STEM Program at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland; I graduate in 2024. I started playing soccer when I was 8 years old, and started playing club soccer at 10.
I'm a natural lefty, but I have the ability to shoot and pass over long ranges with both of my feet. I'm comfortable with dribbling out of pressure, as well as 1v1s both offensively and defensively. I'm versatile and can play anywhere in the central midfield role, out wide as a forward, or as the striker down the middle. I have experience playing in the ECNL from U13 up until the fall season of 2021.
I'm taking 3 AP classes this year, including AP Chinese, AP NSL, and AP Computer Science A. My other classes include BC Calculus, Magnet Biology, and Magnet Foundations of Technology.
I still don't know exactly what I want to pursue in the future as I am considering many STEM options, but I currently have strong interest in majoring in Engineering and Computer Science. In addition, I'm also interested in the Performing Arts and Drama field both on an off stage as I have been in productions myself and have also been backstage, allocating 300+ student service learning hours into assisting children in grades K-6 performing in theatre productions.
