Gabrielle Stravinski
Recruit Profile
Perseverance in sports and academics; impactful multi-sport athlete, coachable team player, versatile multi-position player and a durable center back. Demonstrated leadership on the field.
Soccer to me is more than a sport. Soccer uncovered a medical issue no doctor detected for fourteen years. To treat a concussion, I went to INOVA Concussion Center and they detected something unusual with my eyes. My injury set me on a path to uncover why I had severe headaches after reading or doing complex math. A specialized optometrist diagnosed me with binocular dysfunction, my eyes and brain were not working together properly. I began vision therapy achieving tremendous results.
As a child soccer was one of many sports I played. In elementary school I chose to focus on soccer and swim. I joined a local travel team in fourth grade. I also swam for club and summer swim teams. I qualified for several Invitational swim meets and received the Top Point Earner award for my swim team. In middle school I was invited to travel to Finland to play soccer with the Next Gen program. I was the youngest team member by two years, but held my own against the local Finnish teams. As it became apparent that I enjoyed soccer more, I gave up swimming. I moved to the Washington Spirit Developmental Academy, now the Metro United Girls Academy.
My first year, 2018/19, in the DA/GA, I played forward. I was injured in the fall of 2019, and remaining games were canceled with Covid-19. In fall 2020, I moved to center back starting 100percent of the games that year. Currently, I play both center back and mid field.
As a High School Freshman I made the Varsity Field Hockey, Swim, and Girls Soccer teams, lettering in all three. In Spring 2021, I started all 16 Varsity Soccer games and played 14 full games as center back on our 2021 Virginia Class 4 State Championship team. In addition, I swim for Dominion and have qualified for the Swim & Dive Virginia Class 4 State competition all three years.
I participate in the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competitions and am a two-time selectee for States DECA competition, and have advanced to the International Career Development Conference. I volunteer at Women Giving Back and TopSoccer.

Gabrielle Stravinski is a big reason Dominion soccer won the 2021 Virginia state title (and region and district), finished 16 - 0 and scored 73 goals while only giving up 3. She was awarded the Coaches award and had 13 complete games in 16 contests at center back and attacking mid. A college would be lucky to get her. call 703 554 7918 or email mreles@lcps.org if you need a reference for her.
